Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 793.787g crushed tomatoes
  • 1 lbs ground beef
  • 453.592g mozzarella cheese
  • 425.2425g ricotta cheese
  • 1 onion (medium)
  • 4 lasagna noodles
  • 1 egg (large)
  • 0.5 cups grated parmesan
  • 28.3495g tomato paste
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 0.125 cups dried oregano
  • 0.125 cups dried basil
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large pan, cook ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Add onion and garlic to the pan and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
  7. To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  8. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, followed by a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture. Sprinkle with a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  9. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.
  10. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
