Lasagna
Ingredients
- 793.787g crushed tomatoes
- 1 lbs ground beef
- 453.592g mozzarella cheese
- 425.2425g ricotta cheese
- 1 onion (medium)
- 4 lasagna noodles
- 1 egg (large)
- 0.5 cups grated parmesan
- 28.3495g tomato paste
- 4 garlic cloves
- 0.125 cups dried oregano
- 0.125 cups dried basil
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pan, cook ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic to the pan and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
- To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Place 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, followed by a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture. Sprinkle with a layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
